Vacation Projects

I was finally able to finish some of my projects that I had been working on during my Thanksgiving vacation.
Here is the Christmas countdown calendar. I used American Crafts paper, American Crafts rub-ons, and embroidery floss. I also played with my decorative scissors and tiny hole punch to make the scalloped edge. Lots of fun.

My husband the hero
Hooray for my husband. He was able to fix our computer. Now I can post pictures. Not much else going on today. My parents are visiting from Indiana for the holidays. We've been having fun visiting and preparing for tomorrow. I'm just glad that my family doesn't care about boxed mashed potatoes and gravy in a jar. I would hate to spend all day cooking tomorrow. I like cooking, don't get me wrong, but I don't want to do it for hours and hours on a holiday. Luckily my husband agrees with me. We go to the Chinese restuarant for dinner on Christmas. It always reminds me of the movie A Christmas Story. After the dogs eat the turkey, they have to go to the Chinese restuarant for dinner and the waiters sing "Fa ra ra ra ra."

Technology
Our computer that has all of our family pictures is being difficult. For some reason Windows is not running correctly, therefore we can not get any information off of it. If you do not have an external hard drive, I suggest you get one. My husband thinks that he can get the information off of our machine, so I am hopeful. I can not post any new pics until the computer is fixed. Our laptop doesn't have Photoshop on it.
Just got back from the store. Pretty crazy there. Everyone is buying for Thanksgiving. Have a great holiday with your family. Don't spend all day cooking. I know that I won't. I bought as many convience foods as I could today. Boxed mashed potatoes, gravy in a jar, frozen rolls. Sounds like Thanksgiving to me.

Cleaning house
I have been busying this weekend cleaning and scraping. I am cleaning the bedroom closet and getting rid of the things that we don't wear anymore. So far I have two trash bags full. I love getting rid of things.
This weekend I have been playing with Making Memories Funky Vintage Clears. They are beautiful and fun. The best feature is that they are self adhesive. No worries about the adhesives showing through. I am also making a Christmas countdown book. When I get finished I will post some pics.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins
Every year when the weather turn crisp, I start to crave these muffins. I used to think that I didn't like pumpkin, but after eating these muffins I discovered otherwise. I found out that I like pumpkin a lot (in muffin form anyway)!
Checking my favorite blogs today and I was incredibly inspired by Ali E.http://www.aliedwards.typepad.com and Donna D. http://www.donnadowney.typepad.com. I love the advent boxes and button trees done by Ali. (She found the button trees on Two Peas website by Tia Bennett) Also loving the fabric album created by Donna. I want to make all of it.
I'll post some pics of the muffins soon.

The First Post
Well, here it is. My very first post ever on a blog. The weather in Missouri is fantastic right now. We are in shorts and t-shirts with our windows open in the house. You gotta love the Midwest. We're waiting for the Sunday night game Chargers vs Colts. My husband is from California, so I a Charger fan by marriage. Hopefully, it will be a good game. I really don't want to watch the Chargers lose.
